CREW Dallas will learn about “The Concrete Ceiling” from Meloni McDaniel, President/CEO of TEXO, The Construction Association
DALLAS – October 30, 2015 – Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Dallas members will hear from Meloni McDaniel, President and CEO of TEXO, The Construction Association as someone who knows what it is like to be a woman in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction world. The open-to-the-public luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Park City Club, 5956 Sherry Lane.
McDaniel’s presentation, “The Concrete Ceiling” comes from her experiences of working for, and now leading, one of the largest construction associations during a robust DFW construction economy. TEXO explores how women may face special challenges in the industry. TEXO is the largest commercial construction association in North Texas with members’ combined annual revenues of more than $9 billion.
McDaniel has been with TEXO since October 2013 and led the member programs and services efforts until her promotion to President/CEO in March 2015. She has played a key role in the success and growth of TEXO.
She attended the University of Oklahoma and majored in Architecture with a minor in Construction Science Management. Graduating in 2005, she went to work full-time for The Beck Group. She has a vast network, including an upcoming appointment to Chair the Ft. Worth Society of American Military Engineers Post. McDaniel is a licensed architect in the state of Texas, is passionate about advancing the construction industry and is active with the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, which focuses on STEM education.
“CREW members are anxious to hear about The Concrete Ceiling,” said Sally Longroy, president of CREW Dallas and a shareholder with Guida, Slavich & Flores, P.C. “We are looking forward to learning what challenges exist for women who go into commercial construction.”
The cost for the luncheon, which is sponsored by Schmidt & Stacy Consulting Engineers, Inc., is $55 for pre-registered guests and $65 for walk-ins. For more information, contact Kim Hopkins at 214/890-6490 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
