A deal to purchase the Houston Chronicle building downtown is in the works between one of Houston’s most recognizable developers Hines and the newspaper owner, sources say.
Hines, the Houston development company responsible for many of the notable buildings in the city, including Williams Tower, Pennzoil Place and the Bank of America building, is working on a deal to purchase the property at 801 Texas from Hearst Corp., the Chronicle’s owner, according to a source familiar with the deal and an unattributed blog post on Realty News Report.
No deal is finalized for the sale of the building. Hines and Hearst representatives declined comment. [Houston Chronicle]
